Lisa H. Owens took over the Centre College men's and women's track teams in 2001 after being the assistant men's and women's track coach since 1998. Owens graduated from Berea College in 1996 where she earned a bachelors degree in Physical Education and a minor in Nutrition. While at Berea, Owens earned varsity letters in cross country, track, and tennis. The three-time high school state track champion also once held nine school records in track at Berea. In 1995 Owens was invited to compete on the NAIA International Track & Field team where she toured and competed in Europe. She earned a masters degree in Sports Administration from Eastern Kentucky University in 2000. Owens is also the Head men's and women's cross country coach.Coach Owens plans on continuing and improving upon the success of both track programs. She won the KTCCCA College Women's Track and Field Coach of the Year Awards in 2009 and 2011.

Coach Owens married her husband Scott in June of 1998. They have one daughter Meghan and one son Cameron.
